GAME # 1: Where is my tongue?
I was given this game to play by a TMJ specialist years ago. It worked very well because I have not clenched my jaw since, not even in times of high stress!
In this game you place the tip of your tongue at the base of your top teeth where they meet the roof of the mouth.
Now relax it there. Dont press the tongue against the roof of your mouth, please.
This tongue position closes off a gateway where we lose valuable energy we could use to stay in balance.
With the tongue kept in this position and relaxed enough, it becomes impossible to clench the jaw! Try it, it can be easy. We can become softer in this area of our bodies.

The next step in the game is to check on it throughout your day. “Where’s my tongue?
If it isn’t up there, place it there with a command to the body to keep it there. The body responds to a command much faster than a simple request.
Please don’t get mad at yourself if it isn’t there, that will create more stress for you and that’s the opposite effect we are trying to have.
Softly place it into position and command the body again.
Now lets face it, you have clenched your jaw for years! Given that fact, let your body now have the time it takes to change the behavior... 3 months to get it there 10 times out of 10! After the first couple of weeks it will be there 2-3 times out of 10; after a couple of months 5-6 times out of 10. But after 3 months of playing the game, you will check to see where it is and it’s there, 10 times out of 10!
Jaw relaxed, neck muscles are soft and pain free, and shoulders too. WOW... and you have saved your teeth!
Another added benefit: if you can stop clenching during the day it carries over to the sleeping hours! Please teach your children this game! They don’t have to clench and grind their teeth for years like we did!
If you cannot remember to ask yourself the question "where is my tongue?" then do as I did all those years ago...put little colored signs up where ever you are; at the computer, on the TV, in your car...everywhere! It does make for a fun game if other people see the signs you put up, after all, they can use the game too.
